D40X black screen w / Nikkor 18-200 VR?
I use the Nikkor 18-135 and it works, but I just bought the Nikkor 18-200 VR and the screen is very dark. is sometimes impossible to distinguish an image. Suggestions? Awrite, I tried what you said and it shows the opening mail and all information. I will try to contact Nikon then.
Is the image on the screen indicates the aperture and shutter speed? If not, then the objective is not properly connected. Make sure it is * click * cm and try to remove and reconnecting a few times. If the information is displayed, but the screen is still black, if nothing works, even after several attempts to connect the lens on the body most likely is a defect. BTW, the locking ring that Aperture does not mention is that in fhotoace lenses actually have a mechanical aperture ring. The 18-200mm is not one of them.
