Debate between Nikon 60mm f/2.8D AF Micro-Nikkor and Sigma 50mm F2.8 EX DG Macro Lens?
I am relatively new to photography and I realized I like to take close-up pictures (flowers, etc..) I want to buy a macro lens and I wanted a board between the two options, I think? At B & H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com) there is a difference in price between $ 60.00 Nikon 60mm macro and Sigma 50mm macro. @ $ 479.95 Nikon, Sigma @ $ 419.00. For the Nikon wins $ 60.00. Another macro lens to consider is the Tamron 90mm macro at $ 459.95. It is possible that as the greater working distance of bees and wasps which provides the focal length of 90mm. I could not find a price for the Nikon 105mm macro lens. Sigma Macro 105mm to $ 479.00 (B & H). Although Lens tests can be useful, there are characteristics often overlooked in testing. The Nikon Lens may have a better internal baffling to reduce / eliminate the epidemic for photographing backlit subjects. You will see that Nikon build quality is much higher than most glasses after the market which means a longer life for the Nikon. My vote is For Nikon.
