Is a fishing feeding ring a good way to keep your tank cleaner?
I bought a feeding ring that floats at the top, and you basically put the food in there so it doesn’t float around and get caught up underneath your filter water fall.
If anyone knows what I’m talking about let me know if you have done this or think it’s a good idea!

I used a feeding ring for a while and it was pretty good. The fish all knew exactly where to go during feeding time and it kept me from over feeding the fish because you can only drop a little bit in at a time.
The only bad thing was the fish that were shy failed to get any food, as they tend to lay back and get some left overs anyway. It seems the feeding ring may do too good of a job for my tank, as it limited the spread of food so well these shy fish didn’t get enough, so I stopped using it. I recently got a feeding square, it is a little bigger, and it works well for the pellet food, but I feed flake food outside.
Over all I would say it is not a bad purchase, but not necessary if you simply hand feed them the right amounts. Either way, ring or not, if someone puts too much food in there, it won’t be healthy for the tank.
