What a versatile general purpose should I buy for a Canon 400D?
I'm in the market for a digital Slr Camera (either a 400d or My father soon-to-be-updated 20D) and am having some problems deciding what the goal for general purchase. I tentatively agreed to a 70-200mm f / 4 USM Telephoto Lens, which seems a good balance between value and quality. I do not have much money to play with the goal of his overall goal: I plan 50mm f/1.4 USM and 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM. Any comments on these issues and further suggestions are very appreciated! Canon Lenses Goodwill some good available and can be very difficult choosing only the best suited to your needs. The 70-200mm f / 4 L USM has rave reviews. The first 50mm you mention, also rates very well. The 24-85mm has mediocre reviews.
