Is this a good martial artist who is not a very good boxer teach someone to fight?
Then a Master which is very well informed about the fight against the theory and concepts (mechanical input angles and body positioning, body and human anatomy, the use of leverage, etc.), but a very good and experienced "combat" teach someone how fight effectivly? thoughts? Sparring is fighting it. It's just a training model where you can experiment and see what might work for you in a fight.
Yes, of course. Sometimes a trained professional can not have the ability to teach. At other times, very competent, but nothing remarkable may be able to pass along his wisdom to someone who can give better effect and make profits. Students can and do exceed their teachers.
